Introduction to the International College

为着力推进我校开放办学，深入开展对外合作交流和国际教育多层次建设，2019年5月，原星海音乐学院国际教育学院正式更名为星海音乐学院国际学院。围绕学校的总体办学定位与人才培养总目标，国际学院以促进本校师生的国际交流为宗旨，积极开拓与世界顶级音乐院校和文化机构的合作渠道，共同探索高端国际音乐人才的培养规律与模式，为进一步提升学校的国际化办学水平而努力打造“星海国际+”的特色平台。

To vigorously promote the internationalization of education at Xinghai Conservatory of Music (XHCM), deepen international cooperation and exchange, and build a multi-level international education system, the former International Education College of XHCM was officially renamed as the International College of Xinghai Conservatory of Music (ICXHCM) in May 2019. According to the school-running orientation and talent cultivation objectives of XHCM, ICXHCM aims to promote international exchange for faculty and students, actively exploring cooperation avenues with world's leading music institutions and cultural organizations, and collaboratively discovering the patterns for nurturing high-caliber international musical talents. To further enhance the standard of international education, ICXHCM dedicates itself to build a distinctive platform of “Xinghai International +”.

依托学校资源，合理利用与国内外权威平台的合作优势，2019年9月，我校与美国旧金山音乐学院强强联手，启动了我国独立音乐院校中首个“3+2本硕连读”项目。同年12月，我校与中国（教育部）留学服务中心确立了战略合作伙伴关系，成功开设了“出国留学培训国际本科2+2项目”，再创独立音乐院校之首。2022年，“3+2项目本硕连读项目”新增美国堪萨斯大学音乐学院为合作伙伴；2023年，我校圆满完成了第一批太平洋岛国人文交流生项目工作，同年，与西班牙利赛欧音乐学院携手开办了交换生项目。截至目前，我校的海外合作院校已有23所，覆盖美国、英国、奥地利、加拿大、澳大利亚、西班牙、意大利等国家和中国香港等地区。

Relying on the resources of XHCM and taking advantage of collaborations with authoritative platforms both domestically and internationally, in September 2019, XHCM forged a formidable partnership with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the United States, launching the first-ever “Bachelor’s-Master’s Degree Program” (“3+2 Collegiate Program”) among independent music conservatories in China. In December 2019, XHCM established a strategic partnership with the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) under the Ministry of Education, and successfully launching the “Study Abroad Training (International Undergraduate 2+2) Program”, once again leading the way among independent music conservatories in China. In 2022, the “3+2 Collegiate Program” welcomed the University of Kansas School of Music in the United States as a new partner. In 2023, XHCM successfully completed the first cohort of the Exchange Program with Pacific Island Countries for Humanity Purpose, and in the same year, launched an “Exchange Program” in collaboration with the Liceu Conservatory of Music in Spain. As of now, XHCM has established partnerships with 23 overseas institutions, covering countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria, Canada, Australia, Spain, and Italy, as well as regions like Hong Kong, China.

在巩固已有国际教育项目优异成果的同时，国际学院还专注于国际特色课程研发、专业技能语言培训以及基于项目建设与阶段性成果的学术科研工作。学院目前面向全校在读本科生、研究生开设国际模块公选课程及项目语言衔接课程；成功立项多个省级科研课题、校级科研课题和国家级大学生创新创业项目，并获得校级教学改革成果奖。

While consolidating the outstanding achievements of existing international education programs, ICXHCM also focuses on the development of curriculum with international features, professional skills and language training, and academic research which is based on program development and progress achievements. At present, ICXHCM offers international module elective courses and program-oriented language bridging courses to all undergraduates and postgraduates at XHCM. It has successfully initiated multiple provincial-level research projects, university-level research projects, and national-level college students innovation and entrepreneurship projects, and has won the XHCM Teaching Reform Achievement Award.

随着办学经验的不断丰富、项目品牌的成功树立以及人才培养质量的持续提升，国际学院陆续收到国内外顶尖艺术教育机构发来的合作意向。未来短期内，我校的国际教育项目建设将以拓展交换生项目、海外短期访学项目、建立海外实践基地以及联合培养硕士为建设重点。

With accumulating experience in the aforementioned fields, the successful establishment the name of ICXHCM, and the continuous improvement of talent cultivation quality, ICXHCM has been receiving intentions for collaboration from leading art education institutions at home and abroad. In the short term, the development of international education programs of XHCM will focus on expanding exchange programs, overseas short-term visiting study programs, establishing overseas internship bases, and joint master’s programs.

国际学院将在已经形成宽口径、多层次、高质量、强品牌的国际教育项目体系基础上，努力实现新的突破，持续发挥国际教育纽带作用，放眼世界，讲好星海故事。

ICXHCM will strive for new breakthroughs on the basis of a well-established, broad-ranging, multi-level, high-quality, and strongly branded international education program system, continuously leveraging its role as a bridge for international education. With a global perspective, it endeavors to share the Xinghai story to the world.
